On July 22, IRMA (Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance) released the second draft of IRMA Standard v2.0 - Responsible Exploration, Extraction, and Processing of Minerals and launched a new round of public consultation. The consultation period will last for 3 months, ending on October 22, 2025.

Compared to the IRMA Standard v1.0, the IRMA Standard v2.0 introduces a new approach, covering more phases of the mining and mineral supply chain, from exploration and development through mining, closure, and mineral processing. New chapters, like Upstream and Downstream Sustainable Due Diligence and Gender Equality, and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence have been added; and some existing chapters have also been expanded. The draft standard and further information can be found on the IRMA website: IRMA Standard v2.0: Second DRAFT out for public consultation until October 22 - IRMA - The Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance. Comments and suggestions on IRMA Standard 2.0 can be submitted via various methods on the website.
We encourages domestic and overseas mines to provide feedback and suggestions on the IRMA Standard v2.0.
